Pecan Lake Entertainment Center rezoning approved

The Queen Creek Town Council voted Wednesday to approve rezoning and expanding the allowable uses for a developer’s plan to create a family fun center that will include restaurants, electric go-carts, zip lines, a miniature golf course, a wade pool and more.

The council, in a unanimous vote, reaffirmed a Queen Creek Planning & Zoning Commission decision to rezone 2 acres of land east of the Horseshoe Park & Equestrian Centre and adjacent to Riggs Road from rural estate to a designation called “agritainment” — a combination of agriculture and entertainment.
In addition, the council approved expanding the allowable uses at the site beyond the current Queen Creek Botanical Gardens, 25002 S. 206th St., in Pecan Lake.
