Water decree in Valley means nothing new for most of Pinal

CASA GRANDE — Mayor Craig McFarland told PinalCentral that the declaration by Arizona Department of Water Resources Director Tom Buschatzke on June 1 that there would not be any new water permits in the Phoenix area means nothing new for Casa Grande or the surrounding area.

McFarland said Casa Grande and other cities in Pinal County under the Pinal Active Management Area have been coping well with restrictions on groundwater supplies for six years, and he does not envision further restrictions added.
