Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes’ chief of staff will leave the administration in about a month, Mayes’ office announced early Monday. Amy Love, a former Capitol lobbyist who joined the state prosecutor’s office earlier this year, will resign effective Aug. 7, according to a two-paragraph news release from Mayes’ office.
“Amy Love is an exceptional public servant, and I thank her for her service to the Attorney General’s Office and the State of Arizona,” Mayes, a Democrat, said in a statement. “I wish her all the best in her future endeavors.”
Richie Taylor, a spokesperson for Mayes, declined to say whether Love will be replaced or provide information about what work she will be doing in the coming weeks. Taylor said Love was paid a $200,000 annual salary.
Love could not be immediately reached for comment. A recording at her office number said she was away from the office without phone or email access.
