Scottsdale City Council is moving forward with a new $1.6 million capital improvement project to improve the Arizona Canal banks near Camelback Road.

The Arizona Canal improvements north of Camelback Road and east of Scottsdale Road date back to a 2016 development case for the WaterView, a mixed-use project. The two projects identified are the Arizona Canal bank improvements and a bridge crossing the canal.

On July 10, the city council approved the budget appropriation transfer, which is funded through the city’s Cultural Improvement Program. The resolution was apart of the consent agenda, but two council members asked to discuss the item further before voting.
