Carefree appoints new town council member

By Cole Januszewski | Foothills Focus

The Carefree Town Council appointed Clint Miller out of 10 potential candidates to the vacant town council seat during a July 11 town council meeting.

The position opened up after Tony Geiger, who was elected to the council in 2020, resigned for health reasons.

After three rounds of voting and discussion, Miller was appointed with a 3-2 vote and sworn in with Councilmember Sheila Amoroso, Vice Mayor Cheryl Kroyer and Mayor John Crane supporting Miller. They said Miller’s unique skill set as an architect was the deciding factor.

“We look forward to Clint helping us upgrade our design guidelines and upgrading the aesthetics in the town core,” Crane said. “He has built many fabulous houses in the Carefree area and he will be a strong asset to our town council moving forward. We are very happy to have him on board.”

“I see my contribution as adding beauty — whether to repurpose old buildings or for new buildings,” Miller said. “I will help find the union that makes Carefree unique. This community deserves sensitive and leading architecture.”
