Changes could be coming to Prescott’s Whiskey Row

PRESCOTT — A big change could be coming to Prescott’s Whiskey Row — the focal point of the historic downtown — as the city’s Preservation Commission considers a proposal to replace three existing storefronts with the Prescott Plaza Hotel, a five-story, 55-room boutique hotel.

The commission will discuss the proposed project during their meeting Friday morning but no formal action will be taken.

If ultimately approved, the hotel would replace the Mountain Spirit Gallery, the Harley Davidson store and Wild at Heart, a small gift shop all located in the middle of the block along Montezuma Street. The hotel will also feature a wine bar on the third floor rooftop terrace.
