Gamblers have wagered billions on sports in Arizona in 2023. These companies dominate the market

Arizona’s legal sports gambling generated nearly $2.4 billion worth of wagers from January through April 2023 alone.

According to the most recent data available from the state, bettors won about $2.2 billion back on their bets, and the sportsbooks kept about $200 million.

The sportsbook operator with the largest market share, FanDuel, which partners with the Phoenix Suns, had about $891 million wagered on its mobile platform and in its retail location in the four-month period. That coincided with the second half of the NBA season and the runup to the playoffs for the Suns.

The second-largest operator was DraftKings, which partners with TPC Scottsdale, with about $650 million. Together, those operators accounted for more than 60% of all bets made.
