Pima County Superior Court building
Opinion: The transfer of Kari Lake’s appeal to Tucson is yet another lucrative opportunity for her to cry ‘Conspiracy! (And give me money).’

Once again, the dastardly deep state is scheming up a plot to deny Kari Lake her due.
This time, by transferring her latest appeal of last year’s election loss to that hotbed of liberalism, Tucson.
“Well, the Arizona appellate court just transferred our election case to another appellate court division which doesn’t even cover Maricopa County. That appellate court covers Pima County which means the most Marxist part of the state will be hearing our case,” Lake tweeted, along with a link where you can give her some money. “We see what’s happening here.”We absolutely do.
Election denial is a lucrative business and conspiracy theories are the engine that keeps the cash register a’ringing.
New law requires case transfers
Here in the great state of rationality, there’s actually an explanation for the transfer of Lake’s appeal to Tucson — one that’s long on math and pitifully short on skullduggery.
AZ Law, the excellent blog that covers the state’s legal system, laid it out earlier this week.It seems Republican Gov. Doug Ducey last year signed a bill passed by the Republican-run Legislature to add six judges to the Arizona Court of Appeals — three each in Phoenix and Tucson.
A provision of that bill allows the court to transfer cases between the two divisions “in order to equalize caseloads and for the best use of judicial resources.”
