Andrew Ching, Paradise Valley’s new town manager as of June 19, has worked in law and local governments since 1992.
In college, Ching didn’t know he would work in local government, but that’s where his path has led him.
Ching is an Arizona native, growing up in Tempe and graduating from McClintock High School in 1987. He returned to Tucson where he was born to get his undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona. He then continued his education at Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law and started work with the city of Tempe as a volunteer in 1992 after his first year in law school. The following summer, he returned as a paid law clerk and did that until he passed the bar exam and became a licensed attorney in 1996.
