Owens Corning closing Eloy plant

ELOY — Owens Corning is closing its fiberglass insulation plant in Eloy due to “housing market conditions.”

Eloy Mayor Micah Powell announced the company’s decision during Monday’s City Council meeting.

According to Powell, the facility will completely shut down and eliminate all 36 positions and jobs associated with the facility.

Owens Corning has been a longtime Eloy business. It was in operation for 15 years before closing in 2010. After over a 10-year absence, the company announced plans to restart production at the insulation manufacturing plant in Eloy in September 2021.

Now, after just over a year of being back in the city, the company will once again exit the Eloy area.
