The Windmill Winery is a one-of-a-kind place in the heart of Pinal County, and that only makes sense upon meeting the man behind the winery, who is one of a kind himself.
Harold Christ has plenty of stories to tell, and they offer glimpses into how he came to Pinal County and, ultimately started a winery that has since become a destination venue for weddings from around the globe.
“The distance (of Florence and Pinal County) has now kind of evolved into our advantage,” Christ said. “About 30-35% of the weddings we do are out of state or out of country. We do weddings from England, Australia, Lebanon, all over the Midwest. People are coming because they’re looking for the flavor of perhaps maybe old Arizona, something that’s in the desert, or something that they can’t experience say at a resort, or a golf course or a ballroom.”
