When the U.S. Supreme Court took the side of a web designer in Colorado who said it was her First Amendment right to refuse to design wedding websites for same-sex couples, Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes responded quickly, assuring Arizona residents that protection against discrimination still exists here.
She issued a statement that read in part, “Despite today’s ruling, Arizona law prohibits discrimination in places of public accommodation, including discrimination because of sexual orientation and gender identity. … I will continue to enforce Arizona’s public accommodation law to its fullest extent.”
I praised her for it.
Since then, much of the response I received (hers is much worse, I’d guess) proved Mayes right.
There were plenty of old-fashioned insults, of course.
Things like: “You’re a traitor you pos” from Terry Meehan.
And: “Mayes lives at the bottom of the same garbage can you do …… Montini !!!! A rocket up your arse would be a great way to celebrate the 4th of July” from Philip Vickers.
And: “Cry more. Now that normal folk get to legally discriminate against pedo f****ts like the 2nd class trash you are, LIFE IS GOOD” from “Tiny Rick.”
