Buckeye dissolves residential development agreement

The city of Buckeye took the opposite step it normally does in housing when council on Tuesday night terminated a development for a 457-acre residential project in Southwest Ranch.

The decision would end the development agreement between the property owners and repeal any ordinances passed in relation to the development, according to city documents.

Adam Copeland, deputy planning director for Buckeye, made a presentation on behalf of property owners Verrado 310 LLC, Leister Agrienterprises LLC, and Westpointe Baptist Church Inc.

All property owners requested to dissolve the Southwest Ranch development agreement and terminate the development rights, duties and obligations of the community master plan, Copeland said.
