SAN TAN VALLEY — If San Tan Valley forms a city, where will downtown be?
The committee currently planning for incorporation couldn’t say.
Committee member Buchanan Davis said that conversation can’t happen until the city incorporates.
“We certainly haven’t determined that, but we’d like to have that conversation,” he said at an open house Aug. 10 at the Pinal County office complex near Central Arizona College’s San Tan Campus.
Adrien Litton, who made the preliminary maps of what could be the future city, said organizers would like to be able to zone for a downtown area including commercial sites, restaurants and entertainment. But Davis said the traditional trappings of a city don’t have to appear overnight.
