Get the latest on major Florence projects — online

Via Town of Florence

FLORENCE — Residents will soon be able to consult a website to see how the town’s capital projects are progressing, the Town Council was told Monday.

Florence Deputy Finance Director Carl Dudding said the new page is a product of the town’s new budgeting software. A demonstration of the future web page can be seen at FlorenceAZ.gov/CIP.

“The goal here is to have one source that public or council can go to to see what is happening in the town as far as capital projects; what is the status of those projects; the estimated timeline; the budget amount; the actual cost; and provide some overall transparency to the public,” Dudding said.

Councilmember Michelle Cordes said it’s a beautiful website, but she’s concerned it will just become another way to “copy and paste.” If the town offers this page, “we need to make sure that we are all committing to do the job that we’re being asked to do.”
