SUPERIOR, AZ – Resolution Copper accepted the Rocky Mountain Mining Institute’s (RMMI) 2023 Safety Award for Small Underground Mine. For the second year in a row, Resolution Copper was identified as the safest among its mining peers across the eight-state RMMI region, including Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, North Dakota, Montana, Texas, Utah and Wyoming.
“Safety is our top priority at Resolution Copper and we are thrilled to be twice-recognized for our commitment to ensuring the well-being of all employees throughout our operational processes,” said Vicky Peacey, Resolution Copper president and general manager. “We look forward to upholding this commitment to safety as we continue to progress this critical project for the United States.”
Eligibility for the prestigious award was determined by a review of mining companies’ production incident data over the past calendar year, including Non-Fatal Days Lost (NFDL) and No Days Lost (NDL) rates as reported to the U.S Department of Labor Mine Safety and Health Administration.
