Opinion: Arizona Republicans need an alternative to Kari Lake and Blake Masters if they want to reclaim a U.S. Senate seat. How about … Rusty Bowers?

Rusty Bowers is the kind of person that we used to want to put in power. My guess is many Republicans still do.
Blake Masters’ entry into the Republican race for the U.S. Senate might just offer the once-Grand Old Party its best chance yet for regaining a Senate seat they once controlled for decades.
Oh, Masters won’t be the party’s salvation. Neither will the combative Kari Lake, who’s been teasing a run for months.
Certainly not Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb, who entered the race months ago and immediately became an also-ran even though he wasn’t yet running against anyone.
These three America Firsters, should they all run, won’t be able to help themselves. Once they start their engines in next year’s Senate primary election campaign, they’ll immediately go full throttle for control of the hard right lane.
Leaving the rest of the road wide open.
