CASA GRANDE — Despite it being a study session without a public comment section, it was clearly evident many members in the packed audience oppose a proposal to reduce Florence Boulevard in the downtown vicinity to single lanes in each direction.
During the session on the Florence Boulevard streetscape project at City Hall on Monday, people loudly applauded councilmembers who expressed concerns about the proposed changes and some held placards that expressed opposition.
The study session featured a presentation from city Planner Joe Horn, who told councilmembers the proposed streetscape project includes the “Freeway Sector” (from Interstate 10 to Henness road), a “Midtown Sector “(from Henness to Brown Avenue) and the “Downtown Sector” (from Brown to Arbor Avenue).
