Panel signs off on Mesa mega-warehouse

The Mesa Planning and Zoning board has approved plans for a 1.7 million-square-foot logistics warehouse and office building for Danish shipping giant DSV Air & Sea on an 88-acre site directly south of Legacy Park sports complex near Ellsworth and Pecos roads.

Planning and Zoning Chair Ben Ayers wore a wide-eyed expression of “wow” as a planner read out the total square-footage during the planning session before the hearing.

Kim Lofgreen, marketing and business development manager for the city Office of Economic Development, said there is currently no building in Mesa with a footprint that large.
