Zoning change to bring new townhomes in Surprise

New townhomes are coming to Bell Road in east Surprise, adjacent to the Coyote Lakes neighborhood.

But what’s notable about it is the Surprise City Council and the neighbors in Coyote Lakes are happy about it.

The council voted Oct. 17 to change nearly seven acres of land from community commercial to residential high density to make way for an 82-unit complex. Normally, a move like that would be met with resistance from the council or nearby residents.
