Buckhorn Baths owner begins ‘listening tour.’

The owner of the Buckhorn Baths property is embarking on a listening campaign to find out what the community wants to see happen with the historic motel and spa that is an iconic part of Mesa’s past – and future, many hope.

The new listening initiative – which includes meetings with community members and city officials – is being spearheaded by Phoenix-based interior designer Meredith Smyth, who has been hired by owner Avtar Verma to help with the project.

Verma, a developer of multifamily housing, bought the Buckhorn Baths and vacant land surrounding the historic site in 2021.
