CASA GRANDE — Plans to extend operations at the Cactus Mine moved a step closer with the Casa Grande Planning and Zoning Commission on Thursday unanimously approving that two requests be forwarded to the City Council.
On behalf of Arizona Sonoran Copper Company, applicant Rose Law Group requested an amended land use category from Neighborhoods to Manufacturing and Industry and a major amendment to a planned area development, which would allow land to be used for mining.
Those requests pertain to a 186-acre parcel north of Casa Grande-Maricopa Highway and west of Bianco Road.
