This year will be especially celebratory for the Valley’s beloved philanthropist, as Michael Pollack celebrates 50 years of redeveloping the country’s most distressed properties and turning them into landmark shopping centers.
“It’s been a very special year celebrating our 50th year in business, so it is only fitting that we close out the year with a big night of free movies and holiday cheer with the community once again at my Pollack Tempe Cinemas,” said Pollack. “Pollack Tempe Cinemas is a place that I started many years ago so we could give families and the community a beautiful place to see an affordable movie. It brings me great pride to see everyone come through our doors on this special night and it really demonstrates what the holidays are all about and that is giving back to one another.”
Within the last few years Pollack Tempe Cinemas has also undergone an extensive million-dollar renovation. Those renovations included upgrades to its snack bar, all six theaters, including seating and the lobby area.
The exterior of the building was also remodeled to include a large clock between the enormous new marquees that will remind movie buffs of the city hall background in “Back to the Future,” as well as other significant upgrades outside.
