Nearly four years after the 2019 bond was passed by voters, less than a third of the projects have been completed.
That pace has two city council members not happy, though the rest are pleased with the progress.
Council member Barry Graham and Councilwoman Kathy Littlefield feel the city should be further along with working through the 58 projects listed on the $319 million bond.
There have been 14 bond projects completed, worth $105 million.
Maybe the highest profile of those projects is the completion of the renovations at the civic center park in front of city hall.
But that’s not good enough for Littlefield.
“More should be accomplished … it’s not being very well done,” Littlefield said. “I think the bonds presented by the citizens should have a priority because they have accepted debt on themselves in order to issue the bonds, pay for the bonds, and we need to ensure those projects get done.”
