Avondale breaks ground on new amenity at The BLVD

The city of Avondale broke ground on a new sand volleyball complex at The BLVD.

Avondale Parks and Recreation Department members and city officials took part in the project’s ceremonial groundbreaking.

The complex will be situated on a one-acre parcel at The BLVD, adjacent to the existing Randall McDaniel Sports Complex, at 765 N. 114th Ave. The former Avondale City Center in 2019 rebranded as The BLVD (The Boulevard), which will cover 356 acres comprising six district concepts for shopping, dining, entertainment and living, with pedestrian-friendly street and outdoor activities.
