The phrase “growth pays for itself” was uttered a few times and featured in screen presentation slides in a Dec. 4 Chandler City Council work session.
A series of proposed increases that would take effect Jan. 1, 2024, was discussed, ranging from single-family home developer fees to how much a developer is charged if the city must add an arterial street.
While Chandler is landlocked in terms of growing its footprint outward and few acres of county islands that could be annexed, there is still some undeveloped land within city limits, plus the variable of under-used sites that could be redeveloped.
