ELOY — Come August 2024, a familiar face will not be on the ballot in the Eloy city primary, as Mayor Micah Powell has announced he will not be seeking reelection.
In a statement sent to PinalCentral, Powell cited a personal decision not to seek reelection.
“After serious thoughts and discussions with my family, I will not seek another term for mayor,” Powell said in the statement. “I’ve enjoyed every moment of the eight years as a councilmember and vice mayor, and the four years of mayor. I put my all into making Eloy move forward. But, it’s time I devote more time to my family.”
