FLORENCE — Five citizens from around Pinal County were honored for their community service Dec. 20 with annual Civic Engagement Awards from the Pinal County Board of Supervisors.
These residents “volunteer their time and make a difference in the community,” Chairman Jeff Serdy, R-Apache Junction, said.
Supervisor Kevin Cavanaugh, R-Coolidge, made his award to Brenda Hiscox. After county management invited a professor to tell the board that solar panels pose no harm to the environment, Hiscox found an expert with a doctorate in environmental science who found otherwise.
