Axon neighbors fear ‘The Attack of the Apartments’

Airport Advisory Commission meetings are often run-of-the-mill grinders, filled with technical stats, minor permit requests and aeronautical minutiae.

But not this one.

The superstar attraction at next week’s meeting is a 162-page document titled “Axon World Headquarters Campus.”

Given the company founder’s love for sci-fi movies, this could also be called “The Axon Strikes Back” – or, as neighbors fear, “Attack of the Apartments.”

Scottsdale business icon Rick Smith’s Axon is a stun-gun and body-camera maker, which reported estimated sales of $1.5 billion last year.
