MARICOPA — Come July of this year, the City of Maricopa government will see a shift in leadership at the city manager level. With Rick Horst moving into the Chief Strategy Officer position, Ben Bitter, current deputy city manager, will assume the role of managing Maricopa.
“My goal as city manager is no different than my goal as a deputy city manager, and that’s to continue to improve the quality of life for people within our community,” Bitter said.
After attending school at Brigham Young University in Utah, Bitter served a mission in Chile. It was there that he begun to ask questions about how communities are run and the key players in that decision making. He chose to study political science with the goal of doing something for the public good.
