Chandler panel recommends medical center

The Chandler Planning & Zoning Commission is recommending approval of a specialty hospital with 99 beds and a surgery area for the last part of a 42-acre site the city has been trying to develop since 2006.

The site is on 8.1 acres at the northwest corner of Gilbert Road and Insight Way, just south of Lincoln Preparatory Academy.

Cambridge Medical Facility would be two buildings with three towers. The south and central towers would house the hospital beds and surgery rooms and be about 156,000 square feet with four stories each.
