Huge housing development in Florence and Coolidge discussed

FLORENCE — Details of a 7,500-home development extending over the town limits into Coolidge were discussed Jan. 18 at a Florence Planning and Zoning Commission meeting.

Florence will eventually be asked to approve a 1,595-acre Planned Unit Development as part of “Florence 287” by Langley Properties and Colmena Group.

“The overall master plan for the Florence 287 community is a 2,249-acre site composed of multiple parcels,” according to the developers. “The project is located south of Adamsville Road, with the majority of the property south of State Route 287, and east of the proposed North-South Freeway alignment that is generally west of Hiscox Lane.
