Chad Weaver, the Town of Paradise Valley’s community development director, has returned to his primary interests in his new role with the town.

“I just like being able to see the physical manifestation of the work I do,” Weaver said. “If you drive around, you can see the impact that your work has on the town, whether it is PV now or Tempe previously or any of the other places I’ve been. I started my career doing finance and mortgages but went into city planning when I realized that being closer to the impact of my work was important and interesting to me.”

Most recently, Weaver worked with the city of Tempe and Arizona Department of Transportation on the I-10 Broadway Curve Improvement Project. He was Tempe’s community development director for four of seven years with the city before working on that project.

“I saw (this position) as an opportunity to get back to what I know best, which is community development, not so much the freeway building,” Weaver said.
