Multigenerational households — three or more generations under one roof — are on the rise.
By the numbers: The share of multigenerational households in Maricopa County was 7.8% as of 2020, representing nearly 85,000 households. The national share was 7.2%.
- Apache and Navajo counties had the highest rates in Arizona, with 16.9% and 13.2%, respectively.
