Rose Law Group Planner and Project Manager says he is thrilled to kick off 2024 with Mesa’s Historic Preservation Board! “Our annual board retreat was a blast, as we honed in on our goals for the year.”
Goals for this year include curating a list of properties that we would like to see receive some level of codified preservation, raising awareness for the Mesa Historical Museum, and planning an exciting community events calendar.
Mesa’s Historic Preservation Program is to facilitate public knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the City’s historic past, promote better awareness of its architectural and cultural history, work with residents and business owners to preserve that history, and foster civic and neighborhood pride so that future generations will have the opportunity to appreciate and understand Mesa’s unique cultural heritage.
- Taking care of what we have already built so that we and future generations have a sense of our history
- Protecting and enhancing the sense of place for our neighborhoods;
- Making sure that the quality and diversity (visual & historic) of the environments that surround us and on which we depend on, are not diminished;
- Being mindful and aware of proposed development projects so that if approved they deliver the broadest economic and social benefits without destroying our history.
