Amkor selects site for huge plant

Amkor Technology Inc. wants to build its $2 billion semiconductor packaging and testing plant at a prominent master-planned community in Peoria called Vistancia.

The Tempe-based tech giant (Nasdaq: AMKR) is moving forward with its plans to build its project on about 55 acres near the Loop 303 in the south portion of Vistancia, about 40 miles northwest of downtown Phoenix, according to the city of Peoria documents.
