CASA GRANDE — Mayor Craig McFarland is not happy about proposed Arizona legislation that would take away some local control in development.
The bill, known as the Arizona Starter Home Act, HB 2570, was proposed by Lake Havasu City Rep. Leo Biasiucci and Sen. Sonny Borrelli. Both are part of the Republican majority in their respective houses and are seeking to curtail local government on decisions ranging from design, architecture, common walls, mandated open spaces, set-back size, mandated landscaping and the scrapping of homeowners association services.
