FLORENCE — Martin Gutierrez, 60, said he is glad to see the town doing something to benefit all ages. Ruben Gutierrez, 38, said the town needs to upgrade what it has for young people. Stephanie Gutierrez, 34, said there needs to be activities for seniors and kids, teen game rooms and more.
Kade Neal, 16, said an indoor basketball court or gym is what’s needed most to get people out of the house and out of the heat. Nicole Neal, 43, agreed: “Our teens need something to do, but inside.” Jessica Fales, 39, said she hopes there will be gymnastics and tumbling.
They were among about 60 people, equipped with a handful of adhesive dots, who voted for the building features and amenities they’d most like to see in a future Florence multigenerational center. There was also space to suggest more features not specifically listed. The town and its design contractor, Architekton, hosted the open house Feb. 13 at the Florence Community Center.
