City leaders yesterday shared new information about roadway construction and improvement projects budgeted for the next fiscal year.
Top among those was the second phase of the Sonoran Desert Parkway, which opened as a two-mile connector between John Wayne Parkway and Porter Road in October.
The 2.2-mile expansion eastward would continue from Porter Road, across the Santa Rosa Wash and over the Union Pacific Railroad tracks before meeting Fuqua Road at Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway. The budget showed an estimated completion date of June 2027.
