The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess is a step closer to a big on-site expansion.

On Feb. 28, the Scottsdale Planning Commission unanimously approved a request by the resort’s ownership to amend development standards. That will allow the resort to increase the number of hotel guest rooms, add 27,000 square feet of new food and beverage concepts as well as expand the event space by 35,000 square feet.
