This year’s political race for the mayor’s office could very well go to the Nov. 5 general election vote.
Local attorney Lisa Borowsky has turned in a statement of interest with Scottsdale City Clerk Ben Lane to run for the mayor’s office.
Assuming all of the candidates get the 1,000 signatures necessary to get on the ballot (due to Lane’s office between March 11 and April 8), that would make it a three-person race for the mayor’s office. Borowsky would face incumbent David Ortega and former city council member Linda Milhaven.
With three people in the race, some one would numerically be eliminated in the Aug. 6 primary election, leaving the remaining two candidates to slug it out in the general election.
