The Scottsdale City Council unanimously approved $9.2 million in improvements to Scottsdale Stadium during its March 19 meeting.

The improvements will include a shaded grass berm and bathrooms in the outfield along the third base line that can be used as a public park when the stadium is not being used.

Work will begin April 1 and is scheduled to be finished in February 2025, before spring training begins.
The improvements mirror a similar project along the first base line that was completed in time for spring training 2020.

The current work was initially scheduled to be completed in time for spring training 2021 but COVID and lead times for some construction materials of 18 months pushed the project back to this year.
