Two four-story hotels — an Extended Stay America Premier Suites and a Marriott Studio — are to be constructed on 4.5 acres south of U.S. Highway 60 and east of Greenfield Road in Mesa.

The development’s look and landscaping were discussed March 12 by the Mesa Design Review Board. Chair Scott Thomas was absent.

The landscape plan includes a variety of species such as ghost gum and honey locust trees, Staff Planner Joshua Grandlienard said during the meeting.

“On the western side of it, right close to Greenfield, is the Extended Stay; and it is two separate hotels for 248 hotel keys between the two of them. As part of this, the required parking spots is one parking spot per room and they provided 249,” he said.
