The Buckeye City Council passed two items attached to a water campus that helps the city expand west and allowed it to move forward with phase one.
The Farallon Water Campus is a water supply facility that receives raw water from various sources — mainly wells, as it is a groundwater facility. The wells in the area are transmitted to Farallon and then the campus treats the water, stores the water, and distributes it to customers.
The first phase of Farallon, according to Director of Water Resources Terry Lowe, won’t have any treatment other than disinfection because the raw water sources that will be coming in won’t require treatment. However, Lowe noted there is a planned area within the site should there need to be equipment installed for an arsenic treatment, fluoride treatment or any other treatments.
