Scottsdale-based Greenlight Communities held a groundbreaking for a new Streamliner Community in Peoria April 4 at 87th and Peoria avenues.
Mayor Jason Beck spoke at the event.
Once completed, Streamliner 87th will bring a total of 190 new rental units to the area. Altogether the communities will offer 71 studio apartments with rents starting at $1,099. There will also be a total of 72 one-bedroom units and 47 two-bedroom units.
This project will be a pair of firsts for Greenlight, the developers’ first project in Peoria and the first Streamliner 2.0 project, according to a news release. This updated model of Streamliner buildings which uses smaller 24-unit buildings with simplified architecture allows for quicker build times and makes efficient use of site planning, showcasing Greenlight’s continued dedication to using modern design technology to improve attainable housing for their residents.
