Mesa officials see leaner times ahead

Mesa City Council kicked off its annual budget adoption process at a study session last week, and administration officials signaled that leaner times were ahead.

Management and Budget Director Brian Ritschel said Mesa will be financially stable for the next five years, but starting next year the city’s reserve balances are projected to decline annually.

Ritschel said net revenue sources are projected to decline in the  fiscal year that begins July 1.
