It seems unlikely.
The idea is to pick up a 106-year-old house that is wedged into a downtown area, drive it a half-mile down a narrow and busy main street and plop it down on the lawn of an even older structure, where some folks want to fix it up and open it to the public. All within a few weeks’ time.
Sounds difficult. Sounds expensive. Sounds maybe like someone had a flight of nostalgic whimsy and a little too much to drink.
But the directors at Gilbert’s HD South and the developers at WAGS Capital, supported by construction professionals, think it is entirely possible to do that and save Clare House, the second oldest building in Gilbert behind only HD South itself.
