North Scottsdale has been in development-related news repeatedly over the past year, with Axon, One Scottsdale, ASM, Optima McDowell Mountain and the Parque planning projects that will bring thousands of apartments and condos north of Shea Boulevard.
South Scottsdale?
Not so much.
While the area has been relatively quiet, that will change if Southdale is approved.
This new mixed-use project plans a 293,900 square foot building with 267 dwelling units at 7000 E. McDowell Road.
Just west of Scottsdale Road at the city’s southern limits, the development will also have “a neighborhood urban market/café (URBO Market), corporate office space for Hawkins Companies – the developer of Southdale – a publicly accessible community room and a public plaza along 70th Street.”
