Paradise Valley Planning Commission has approved the minor special use permit amendment for Area C of the of the Five Star Development Ritz-Carlton Paradise Valley project.

The commission voted 6-1 to approve the request with Commissioner Timothy Dickman in opposition who said he doesn’t like the all or nothing approach. They broke into executive session immediately before taking action April 2.

The request is from Drewett Works on behalf of Five Star to modify the 35-foot rear yard second floor setback requirement on nonlivable area for four interior lots (15-18) of Area C. Instead, it would mirror the 20-foot rear yard first floor setback. The 35-foot setback will still be in place for livable area on the second floor, Planner Brandon McMahon explained.
