On Thursday March 07, 2024, Supervisor Jeff Serdy hosted a State of the County event in Apache Junction. The event offered local residents the opportunity to hear from, and ask questions to County Elected Officials and Department leaders on the most pressing issues impacting their community.

Dark-Sky Initiative in Pinal County
Supervisor Serdy has assembled a collaborative group of interested citizens across the county to look at various locations where the opportunity is available to consider Dark Sky designations. Gold Canyon (Dark Sky Committee, GCCI) and the City of Apache Junction have actively been working to move their communities towards Dark Sky’s certification. We hope you will join other Pinal County residents in a celebration of Dark Sky’s week April 2-8, 2024.
On Monday, April 8th, for thirty minutes from 8:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., we encourage Pinal County residents to join us in observing a thirty-minute ‘Dark Skies Lights Out’ Event across Pinal County, turning off all unnecessary lighting indoors and outdoors at home to reduce light pollution, step outside and look up, and enjoy the beauty of the night sky and the wonders of our universe!
